By way of background, I was born in Williamsville, New York and started loving Biology at an early age. I remember studying the various types of microrganisms from a nearby creek with a microscope I begged for and received on my 8th birthday.
As an undergraduate I double-majored in Biology and Psychology. I went to graduate school studying Physiological Psychology. After school, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for several years before going back for my teaching credential.
I have three children and they are all enrolled within SFUSD. I'm lucky to have married my college sweetie and we live here in San Francisco.
